Traveling the Christian Road
Being a Christian means more than just wearing a cross, having a bumper sticker that says "Honk if you love Jesus", or even carrying a Bible. In today's times, being a Christian means living a life that reflects Jesus everyday and sometimes this is a road less traveled. When traveling this road, sometimes Christians may get deluded by the world's standards and thoughts protrayed by Hollywood regarding the concept of being a Christian.
To overcome the delusion, it is imperative that Christians let their life be one that draws others to Christ. We should remember that every action causes a reaction and the reaction that we want is one of love, trust, peace, and joy. But it is difficult to have these things if we are constantly having negative actions. Our actions definitely have an impact on the road that we travel for our Christian walk. Also, the road that Christians travel is becoming more and more difficult to bare.
Many people who claimed to be a Christian have come to realize that the road they must travel requires a lot of self-sacrifice. Or having an attitude of love-filling J.O.Y. which means loving Jesus, Others, and Yourself. Many may not have a problem loving Jesus or even others but loving oneself may be hard to bare. The best way to love oneself is to do it the way that Jesus does, unconditionally.
Another thing, traveling on this road may mean that you must face the 3T's which are troubles, trials, or tribulations. Just remember that with Jesus on your side that the 3T's are not going cause you to despair. Instead look at it as a road of discovery into what God has for you. So be brave in your walk with Christ and take the road less traveled, you will definitely love all the benefits that God has in store for you.
Just remember what Jeremiah 29:11 says, For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. (NLT)
